JDM Designs was founded by Jimmy D. McDonald, an artist, entrepreneur, and visionary whose passion for visual communication has guided the company since its beginning.
Long before JDM Designs became a recognized name in custom signage and architectural graphics, Jimmy was creating artwork, studying illustration and advertising, and exploring how design influences people, places, and experiences.
To this day, creating remains his greatest passion.
Whether painting on canvas, developing architectural signage, designing branded environments, or helping clients bring ideas to life, Jimmy remains actively involved in the creative process. That artistic foundation continues to influence the culture of JDM Designs and the way projects are approached throughout the company.
Every project begins with a simple belief: great design should do more than identify a place, it should communicate a message, create an experience, and leave a lasting impression.

Behind our leadership team is a skilled group of welders, fabricators, installers, coating specialists, electrical technicians, and production team members who help bring each project to life.
While technology continues to evolve, one thing has never changed – the value of skilled people who take pride in their work and care deeply about the customers they serve.
Honoring Lupe
For more than 30 years, Lupe was an instrumental part of the JDM Designs family.
Known for his incredible craftsmanship, attention to detail, and steady work ethic, Lupe had the rare ability to build almost anything imaginable. Whether working with stone, metal, wood, or custom architectural elements, his experience and hands-on knowledge helped shape countless projects over the decades.
If it could be imagined, there was a good chance Lupe could build it.
More than a craftsman, Lupe represented the heart of dedication and pride in workmanship that continues to define JDM Designs today. Even in retirement, his legacy remains part of the foundation of who we are.
Remembering Gregg
Gregg was far more than a CNC machinist.
During his 16 years with JDM Designs, he brought together technical skill, creativity, illustration, graphic design, and problem-solving in a way that elevated countless projects. His ability to transform ideas into precise, dimensional reality made him an invaluable part of the team.
Part artist, part designer, part craftsman, and part engineer, Gregg had a unique ability to bridge creativity and technology.
Gregg’s creativity, professionalism, and personality left a lasting mark not only on the company, but on the people who had the privilege of working alongside him. After a courageous battle with cancer, Gregg’s legacy continues to inspire the craftsmanship and passion we carry forward every day.
